Desktop support Engineer

Location: White Plains, NY

Job Description:

The engineer will collaborate with a team of IT members to deliver quality solutions. The engineer must be competent in Microsoft technology stack and security to perform duties to maintain a healthy technical environment. Candidate must maintain strong technical skills that follow the current market trends to work on both cloud and on-prem based solutions. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days on-site and 2 days remote work.

Job Responsibility:

  • Interact with senior business leaders, technology peers and clients to provide support. Hence communication skills are very important for this role
  • Participate in a project to roll out on prem Microsoft windows machines to an M365/E3 Cloud solution
  • Responsible for providing technical support including installation, deployment and troubleshooting of Windows machines
  • Administer Quest’s KACE System Management software (K1000) to automate administrative tasks, maintain compliance requirements and apply automated security updates
  • Increase team productivity and automate repetitive tasks by using batch, VBS and WMI scripting
  • Ensure that all workstation’s Operating Systems, software and procedures align with organizational standards and strategic business plan – adhering to the ISO-27001 standards
  • Identify vulnerabilities, recommend corrective measures and ensure the adequacy of existing information security controls
    Manage end point security on workstations utilizing McAfee ePO and CCleaner
  • Utilize Quest’s System deployment (K2000) for constructing and deploying standard images
  • Provide on-call support for all technical after hour issues

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in information systems, technology, or related computer science.
  • Microsoft and Cloud Certification is a plus

Knowledge and skills:

  • Able to interpret user issues into helpdesk functions and escalate when necessary.
  • Able to troubleshoot over the phone or on site.
  • Proficient in Windows and Office products
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on building listening, and questioning skills.
  • Must be able to exhibit written and oral communications skill.
  • Experience with basic PowerShell scripting is a plus
